ATS Traffic Company History

ATS Traffic was established in Singapore in May 1998 via a joint venture between two industry veterans and a well established traffic systems solution provider from Australia, AWA Plessey Pty Limited (later known as Plessey Asia Pacific Pty Limited).

The Company was initially known as AWA Plessey Traffic Systems Pte Ltd.

The Company was subsequently renamed ATS Traffic Pte Ltd in January 2001 when Plessey Asia Pacific Pty Limited indirectly sold its stake in the Company to Tyco International Ltd.

From January 2001 to September 2004, ATS Traffic operated under the Tyco Fire & Security Asia group.

In October 2004, the local shareholders of ATS Traffic completed the acquisition of all the shares in the Company that was indirectly owned by Tyco International Ltd, thereby making the Company a fully locally-owned entity.

ATS Traffic, since becoming an independent local company, continues to be a fully authorized distributor for Tyco Traffic & Transportation, Australia’s specialised traffic products and services; including SCATS® Adaptive Traffic Control system from Sydney, Australia.

The Company has grown from an annual revenue of approximately S$3M in FY1998 with about 8 staff to an annual revenue of approximately S$13m in FY2010 with more than 80 staff in its group.
Since its inception, the Company had successfully executed and delivered more than S$80M worth of projects and are currently halfway in completing another S$40M worth of projects.
